home projects

Our house has returned to normal - no more flooding, yet! Anyways here it is after the flooding!

after the flood

And, I finally got a home project finished. My grandpa made this chest for Brad & I as a wedding gift. But he wasn't able to finish it before he went into the hospital. This summer I finally finished it off. Ahhh - I think it looks soooo pretty.

rewards

A reward for purging - today Brad took our discarded books, CD's, DVD's and video tapes down to the used bookstore and we got a credit for about $50 to use towards other used stuff!! COOL! That's a great incentive to not hold onto non-favorites, rarely pulled from the shelf things! YEAH!

more rain

* Mr. Sun* *sun* *Mr. golden sun* *Please shine down on me!*

It's STILL raining! Oh my goodness! Do we live in Vancouver, now? Did an earthquake happen and the west coast fall into the ocean? The sun isn't suppose to shine again until Sun! Oh my goodness! That was half of Wednesday, all day Thurs, Friday and now Sat. too! Wow! Should we take bets if our suite will flood again? :)

-2

I love the rain and I don't mind multiple rainy days in a row...but when the Saskatchewan sun shines, my, does it ever lift your spirit. This morning we woke up to -2 and sunshine.

I'm thinking that maybe I should morph this blog into visual inspirations!?! Hee hee heee. Maybe I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Or maybe I'll just stick to this format.

AMAZING RACE 10 has begun! Yee Haw! I'm so excited. Already two teams (who looked very interesting) have been eliminated and I'm a little disappointed because they may have really added to the show. Oh well.

mini flood

So here I thought it was the strangest thing for the engineering building to flood to the second floor but forgot to consider our own apartment. OOPS!

our mini flood

This weekend our friend Janet came to town to visit with baby Kellen! What a special treat. Unforunately our floor flooded. It's not the first time we've had wet carpet but this is the worst we've had to date. And now the carpet is pulled up! Ho hum I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it's been raining for the past 5 days. Yes, 5 days. I love the rain but I expect that a house should stay dry. At least in this part of Canada.

Brad & baby Kellen

What's great about the rain and a simultaneous visit from Janet & baby. One, Brad realized how attractive I find that he can care for babies. And in time it will be nice to have a baby with us. Just the two of us playing with a baby in bed. Two, that we really need a house of our own instead of worrying about flooding in a rental. Three, that if we get a house soon, we can start having babies sooner! YIPEE!!. I always loved the rain but now I really love the rain! Praise the Lord for rain and thank you Janet for bringing your very joyful and content baby to our house!

fast forward 3 weeks

As usual - time sure flies. I cannot believe that I haven't written anything since the 25th. That weekend was filled with good stuff too.

Since then it's been; Fabulous fireworks on the bridge to celebrate Saskatoon's 100 years. Cruise weekend and a pile of old and vintage cars. A fatal. Busyness and nights out with friends. A trip to N. Battleford. An under the tuscan sun lunch and then a very full dinner spread at Eleanor's. My birthday - another year older and an extra long weekend at home. Back to school on campus and a BBQ with friends. Girl's night out and another viewing of the Devil Wears Prada with ballet friends. A COLD! Ladies study and now Janet & baby coming to visit. Boy - 3 weeks sure flies by.

Brad's new vehicle ;)

It just amazes me how during this time summer was full blown and now it's definitely fall. Trees have begun to change colour, the leaves are starting to fall, the nights are dark and cool and there's a certain crispness and autumnal smell in the air. Plus I've had to pull out the socks and turtlenecks. I love this time of year. This past weekend I pulled out my turkey collection, put away the japanese wind chimes and decked out my front door in an orange & yellow beribboned berried wreath. Ahhhh, tomorrow - hot chocolate. I love fall. I don't like what follows, especially in Saskatchewan but I love fall. Activities are starting up again and everyone falls into a routine. It reminds of a scene from "You've Got Mail" where the main character talks about bouquets of pencils and something else. Anyways...it's one of those "ahhhh" moments.

Saskatoon has been raining for the past 3 days. And today it's pouring...all day...where does it come from? It's suppose to rain for the next two days, too! WOW! Well, I work on the second floor. There is another floor above me and then a roof. This afternoon the second floor ceiling tiles were so saturated with water that the fell down and it is now raining on the floor. How does a leak happen through two floors in an engineering building? Any guesses?
